I wish for...

Today in the mail I got the telephone book I bought on ebay. I had forgot that I bought this - so it was a pleasant surprise! After reading Twenty Wishes by Debbie Macomber yesterday, I couldn't think of one wish.
I hate to have wishes that might never come true. I'd like to go back to this area to visit. Whether I get to go or not - it is a wish.

Twenty Wishes by Debbie Macomber

I've read all of Debbie Macomber's books. I was saving it for just the right time to read - one of those fast and easy to read, pick-me-up books. Well, it didn't help.... in fact, it made my mood even worst! It ended with everyone's wishes coming true - of course (as all her books do). I tried the whole time while reading the book to come up with just one wish ( and I was thinking small things too). Nope, nothing.
I've really enjoyed her books with Shirley, Goodness and Mercy (the angel books) and the Cedar Cove book series. All her books are girl meets boy, they fall in love, get married and live happily ever after type books. But .... I read them anyway.

In Memory of Kim

It was three years ago, the last time I saw Kim. We were at a family reunion in St. Louis. Beings that it wasn't Kim's family or mine, we were there playing games on my laptop. We had a great time just Kim and I. Steve, Kim's husband is my husband's brother. Although everyone at the reunion was very nice, Kim and I seemed to connect.
Kim died in her sleep sometime early last Wednesday morning. Kim was only 44. She was a Mother to two daughters, and a Grandmother to one grand-daughter.
Her service is tomorrow Sunday evening in Walnut Ridge, Arkansas.

El Rico's Queen Creek

My daughter-in-law told me that the grandkids have half days on Wednesdays. So I thought I'd go out and pick everyone up and we could out to lunch. But ... the school failed to tell everyone that they meant every other Wednesday. So I went out to Queen Creek yesterday. My daughter-in-law was home and so was one of the grandkids (she was sick - third day of school). The three of us went to lunch at El Rico's. It's on Power Rd/Hunt Hwy (kind of). What a cool place. The food and service was great! I couldn't believe how busy this place was.

Alamo Crackers

When I travel I love going into grocery stores and see what unique food they have in that area. I must have taken a hundred pictures of the produce. At the end of one of the aisle I found these cookies. They are so cute. I brought these back home along with a whole bunch of chocolate from this fantastic place in Austin. Lammes Candies, 2901 S. Capitol of Texas Highway, Austin, Texas. You can buy this at the airport too. This is melt-in-your-mouth chocolate!
Anyway, I was kind of cleaning house and ran across this sack of my souvenirs from that trip. This box of cookies was still there in the sack. Cookies expired couple years ago :(
I'm thinking.... should I actually clean that room? or just keep the door shut (like it has been).... putting a sign on the door "Museum of Unusable History" ummmm that works!

Coyote on the Rocks ...

I would imagine they are drinking Guiness beer and Irish whiskey in Ireland right now. In Arizona we drink To-kill-ya (tequila).
Congratulations to Padraig Harrington who just won the British Open. Irish eyes are smiling today!

Rocco Mediate - British Open - Day 1

Today was the first day at the British Open. Rocco Mediate is in first place with a -1. Phil Mickelson has always been my favorite. After watching the US Open, it looks like I'll be cheering for Phil and Rocco. Good Luck!

Day 2 ... Rocco Mediate is at 5th place +2 and Phil Mickelson made the cut today at +7 Way to go!

Day 3 ... Phil Mickelson ended today with a +13 & Rocco finishing today at a +8 I was thinking as I watched them play today.... They ought to practice playing golf in Wyoming so they could be use to playing in the WIND!

These cactus grow like weeds here. I had one small section, stuck it in the backyard and three years later .... it was four feet high. Here's something you can try.

Rocco Mediate vs Tiger Woods

I was hoping that Rocco Mediate would win the US Open. I like Tiger Woods but when he acts like a "baby" throwing his club down when he's mad and all that swearing he does..... Geeze, you would think with almost being a billionaire he could act mature! I think they should have a rematch here at Arizona's Grand Course at the Grand Canyon. We'll see who really is the best!
Kenny Perry won today and is in second place with points - just below Tiger. Next week is the British Open.

Sex Rocks in Arizona

When I got married about 8 years ago, one of the guys I worked with gave me a rock for a wedding present. I said - "A rock?" He said "Yea, it's a sex rock." Being new to Arizona (and being a newlywed) I said "A sex rock?"

He said "Yea, Arizona has lots of "F"in' rocks - Welcome to Arizona"

Happy Birthday Romi

We celebrated both Destiny's and Romi's birthday Game Works in the Arizona Mills Mall. First we ate lunch - I had the hamburger with the works - it was fantastic! Then we all got a three hour pass to play the games. What a blast! I don't know who had more fun - the kids or the adults. Happy Birthday Romi
