My husband loves his TV programs. I sit in my new recliner with a book and read while he is watching TV. The dog and/or cat are usually laying in my lap. I started reading Tortilla Flat by John Steinbeck. I got to page 89 and put the book down. It's about Danny and his friends, and the two houses he inherited. After 89 pages of his friends drinking wine, stealing, and burning the house down, I've had enough. Danny isn't much better than his friends.I can just watch the news every night, if I watch to hear about drinking, stealing, and burning houses down.
