$479.26

Our house is all electric - all the houses in this neighborhood are. We knew when we bought this house the electric bills would be high in the summer. This July has been really hot. We had the grandkids stay during July (not normally a good time to visit in Arizona).
I opened up the SRP bill this morning...... I hope you all are sitting down. The bill for July was $479.26. In the four years we have owned this house, that is the highest electric bill so far. So I thought I'd brighten your day - when you open your electric bill, it could be worse. Happy Friday!

I feel for you.

And then of course there's the water/sewer and "refuse collection" (ha - what a euphemism!), and I'm sure a truly big city has thought of a few others ... let's see - oh yes, telephone, cable and/or satellite ...

I'd better stop; I'm depressing myself.

At least the sun is shining!

Yikes!!!
Our bill for last month here in KY was 198.00; all electric.
The weatherman said we will set a record for coldest July - good news for the pocketbook.

I feel your pain! Ours was 3 hundred and something...didn't even look at the rest after I saw the 3! But we run our air day and night when it's hot. My daughter can't sweat and overheats easily so we have to keep the house cool.

yowie zowie. We turn off all the lights (light bulbs create a lot of heat just ask day old chicks.) so we save there. I have no ac so I am not tempted when it is in the nineties and higher outside and seventy-eight is the coolest I can get it inside, with my covered windows, and strategicly placed fans. It is so hot that right now the incubator for the chick and turkey eggs barely runs (it is set for ninety-nine) and it is not in the house. So in a way this is our cheepest time of the year all that is on in the whole house is five fans, the fridge and a couple of freezers in the well house. Oh ya and our well pump runs a bit. Mmm Dirt corrects me and says it runs a lot. Even in our cheep season life isn't for free that is for sure.

Ouch. We have had over 600.00 in the summers...our lowest is usually 325.00 in the winter. It is painful. Hopefully you will have less next month!!!

Pool pump? That increases ours but it's sooo worth it!

Oh my gosh!! were you sitting down when you opened it?? Our highest here in So. Calif. was $185 last summer; we did have gas stove/gas dryer. Its different because you guys are hotter and you have a pool, but I am sooo careful about the AC here

That is crazy indeed, but there must be a bright side to it. When we are paying for heat the nine months of snow and cold... you are not (o:

LOL....that makes me feel better about my bill...I'm not going to get to excited yet...our next bill will be here soon and we had over a week of 100 or above days...

wow that is a mighty nasty bill! but if it hadn't gone there it possibly would have gone to some other stupid bill like, a pedicure, a manicure or maybe a full spa treatment, so just as well to a utility company!
