I was talking to my daughter yesterday. I had to tell her about the washing machine. She was excited about me not having to use the 2 2X4s any more. She said... Mom, I'm going to take a picture of me and send it to you, hold on. - This her driving her Hummer. She was on her way to pick up GiGi and take her to cheerleading practice. - I said... Isn't that kind of unsafe to drive with one hand and take pictures with the other.

Gigi on MySpace
Earlier this year my husband and I attended his company party. One of his co-workers that also attended the party, plays in a band on the weekends. We were invited to come see him (the co-worker) play that next weekend. He gave us his MySpace name and told us to check out his music. So I did. It was not my style of music. While I was on MySpace, I browsed through people names that I know. I found my daughter! I joined MySpace. I sent her an email to be a "friend." I told my son about finding my daughter on MySpace. He then joined too. Just this last week, I found my other daughter and my grandson.
Funny how one thing leads to something else.
I find pictures of my grandchildren on there. Here is Gigi at the beauty salon. How cute! There she is sitting on a suitcase reading a magazine. She's only eight but has her hair done for cheerleading competitions. Oh my!

soap box on Galveston Texas
My daughter told me that they took a vacation to Galveston, Texas just a month ago. They had a great time. They considered buying a vacation get-away there even though they already live in Texas. Remembering hurricane seasons, they didn't.
It boils down to being responsible for your actions. I live in a desert - it is HOT, there are monsoons, haboobs, critters and in Phoenix - 5 million people - oh my goodness traffic, crime, etc. My point is that if I don't accept that - then I should move somewhere else!
If you live in an area that has frequent hurricanes, accept it or move!

happy birthday gigi "My Texas Sunshine"
I flew out to celebrate her 4th birthday. I stayed at the bed & breakfast in their town. The owners of the bed & breakfast fixed a wonderful breakfast birthday party out on the front yard (the picture above). We then went to Cameron Park Zoo and the Mayborn Museum Complex. We ended the day going to their neighbor's house for a birthday cake party in GiGi's honor.
Isn't she a doll!
Her dad was in Iraq for this birthday but able to be home for this birthday. God Bless this family - Happy Birthday GiGi

Alamo Crackers

When I travel I love going into grocery stores and see what unique food they have in that area. I must have taken a hundred pictures of the produce. At the end of one of the aisle I found these cookies. They are so cute. I brought these back home along with a whole bunch of chocolate from this fantastic place in Austin. Lammes Candies, 2901 S. Capitol of Texas Highway, Austin, Texas. You can buy this at the airport too. This is melt-in-your-mouth chocolate!Anyway, I was kind of cleaning house and ran across this sack of my souvenirs from that trip. This box of cookies was still there in the sack. Cookies expired couple years ago :(
I'm thinking.... should I actually clean that room? or just keep the door shut (like it has been).... putting a sign on the door "Museum of Unusable History" ummmm that works!
