Birthday Party

My son (who lives here in Arizona) and his wife and three daughters came over for a BBQ-Pool Birthday party this weekend. Of course, you remember the grand daughter who broke her leg and sprained her foot. They (the doctors) put a new cast on her two weeks ago. She is not using a wheelchair any more. Woohoo! She uses a crutch, now. Hopefully, in two weeks, the cast will come off for good. (just in time for summer break)
My hubby taped a $5 on her cast and signed it. I helped him with the added hearts :)
She didn't get to go swimming and sat on the "injured reserved section" of the pool with my hubby. Hubby ......
He decided to make homemade southern potato salad. He's from Missouri/Arkansas. He thought he'd show us "big city" folk some cooking southern style for the birthday party. While slicing the pickles, he also sliced off the top of his finger. Ouch! I told him to go to the emergency room (and he actually listened and did). According to him, he waited 1 1/2 hours and no one saw him so he left. He went to the drug store and bought a bag full of Band Aids, tape and ointments. He said he could fix his finger himself! Me, not one to argue, said ok.
And so.... my son turned 33. There is never a dull moment at my house!

What a fun idea taping the bill to the cast.

Your son sounds like he's pretty tough and that finger will grow back!!! LOL

To answer your question that you asked on my blog: I think it's illegal to transport plans from state to state...so I haven't moved any from either place...besides I think none of them would do well in either place unless I kept them indoors. I do have some cacti here that I'd like to take to AZ and plant outside so maybe I'll do a little checking to see what's legal
and not. I'm not sure if they'd let me blog behind prison bars!!!!! LOL

Happy Bday to your son and I hope your husband's finger heals soon. I hope your granddaughter's cast does comes off in two weeks and that she has a great summer.

Poor Granddaughter...but at least she will be mobile for the summer.
I was not aware that southern potato salad included BLOOD!!!

That would be a bummer to have a cast on when everyone is swimming. Husbands are so predictable. Mine comes home from work (more often than he use to) with a band-aid on his forehead(or wherever) because he ran into something at work. Sometimes he probably needed stitches.

Oh shoot. I am so sorry about your husband's injured finger. I slightly bumped my finger against one of my husband's Wusthoff knives and cut the dickens out of it. I imagine your husband is SORE.

Glad that your grandaughter is out of the wheel chair. I like the blinged up cast :)

Have a great week DeeDee. And please don't ever throw me a birthday party LOL!

Yes, sounds like it's always something at your house. Happy Bday to your son! Too bad about your hubby's cut finger, although it sure was a nice idea to make potato salad. Your grand daughter is going to be so glad to get that cast off!

Hope they both heal quickly!
